My practice is rooted in an interest in making, particularly in sewing. I primarily create works by stitching together photographs of everyday scenes and people close to me.
Through sewing, time is embedded into the work. As traces of duration accumulate within the material, different fragments are stitched together while, at the same time, moments of displacement emerge.
The ambiguity and instability that arise through the juxtaposition of different images and materials continually give rise to different ways of seeing and meaning.
ものを作る過程、とりわけ「縫うこと」への関心を軸に、主に日常の風景や身近な人々を写した写真を縫い合わせる作品を制作している。
縫うことで作品には時間が刻まれる。その素材は持続の痕跡を帯びながら、異なる断片が縫い合わされ、その過程でずれが生じる。
異なるイメージや素材が並置されることで生まれる揺らぎや曖昧さは、その都度異なる見え方や意味を立ち上げていく。
